BOOT CAMP YMCA is a program designed to challenge your body and your mind. It caters for all fitness levels from the beginner through to advanced. Sessions are run early in the morning for one hour, three times per week, for a 4 week period, come hell or high water. If it rains, we train! If it hails, we train! If there is mini cyclone that is bigger than cyclone Tracy, we train! Get the picture.

We will utilise a diverse range of exercises to give you the most different, and unique workout you will ever have. Activities may include:

  • Fireman’s carry
  • Hill sprints
  • Group challenges
  • Solo challenges

We will put you through a program that you have never experienced before, and one that will get  you results.

Your drill sergeant "Jay" will also select activities including running, jumping, push-ups, sit ups, carrying and team work, that will push your body and mind beyond its comfort zone to a point where you will feel you are achieving the results you signed on for.

Boot Camp YMCA is designed to give you the platform to push yourself and get the significant benefits that you deserve, which means increases in fitness (cardiovascular), increases in strength, and lucky last, decreases in body fat.

The YMCA Boot Camp trainers are tertiary trained in health and fitness, and have the requisite industry experience to competently give you a good education in the YMCA Boot Camp.

The only fitness level you require is the one you have right now! 4 weeks from your start date will be a whole new story:

  • You will be fitter
  • You will feel better
  • You will have more energy
  • You will be stronger
  • You will be able to take your own training to a whole NEW level
  • You will have new YMCA friends!
Session Times Tuesday 5:30am - 6:30am @ Y-West
Thursday 5:30am - 6:30am @ Y-West
Saturday 6:30am - 7:30am @ Rocks Riverside Park

*Please note Sat summer times may change due to the heat,  please confirm with reception

What to Bring

You will need to bring the following to your Boot Camp sessions:alt

  • Workout gear
  • Suitable running shoes
  • Drink Bottle
  • Towel

As the sessions are held outside it is recommended that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you do not mind getting wet or dirty.
